The gaming industry, just like every other industry, is ahighly competitive arena. Major machines and developers are continually struggling to push theirown goods and propel their products ahead of their rivals. One way to slip ahead in this sense is by holding exclusive products which arenot available on rival consoles. These games are often so anticipated that in some extreme cases fans may purchase a console just to access a certain game. Some Playstation 3 exclusives hold just that power.
It is correct to say that Playstation 3 exclusives have suffered a bit late ly. Their competition, Microsoft’s Xbox 360, have grabbed a few Playstation exclusives from Sony and earned the right to host them with their console aswell. The famous example here is Final Fantasy XIII, which both elated Xbox fans but seriously irritated Playstation owners. Others have passed before aswell, including Tekken 6 and Tomb Raider Underworld to name a couple.
However, PS game-players shouldn’t be too disappointed, they’ve still got a host of brilliant Playstation 3 exclusives to try. Little Big Planet, despite being released years back, is still an enormous success and continues to gather custom through PS Store add-ons. The Ratchet and Clank franchise remains a much sought after exclusive too, together with Uncharted, which isbeing hailed as one of the finest new series in recent gaming.
Anticipation is also building for a variety of upcoming Playstation 3 Exclusives aswell. Heavy Rain, the innovative new ‘interactive movie’ is exclusive to this machine, alongwith lauded RPG White Knight Chronicles. And naturally, we can’t forget the big hitter himself- Kratos. Yes, God of War 3 returns to our consoles soon- exclusively on Playstation 3.
Plenty to get excited about then. Sonystill retains a number of brilliant exclusives, and the Playstation 3 remains potentially the most impressive and technically proficient next gen console. Playstation 3 Exclusives are used to boast the genius and power of the console itself- and no-one can argue with the results.
