What do you do when an activity has gotten tired? That is exactly what seems to have occured to PC games in the past few years. If you look at the fresh games, you’ll see that a good deal of them are just retreads of older games. No, I’m not mentioning Final Fantasy 55 ½, I’m mentioning the RPG retreads. Is there a creative storyline? It doesn’t appear that there is, and that’s a factor that frustrates older game players infinitely.
What about the ending of old games? Did anyone ask the gamers if they wanted an end to the older Super Nintendo titles, or the Playstation 1 titles? One can realize the need for revenue, but if you search on the Internet for these old titles you’ll see that some have taken off in price to more than 100 dollars. With such a large craving for these titles, could companies truly lose revenue by sticking with them on shop shelves?
DOOM and DOOM 2 have done a fantastic job of remaining on shop shelves, but that can just stay true for a limited time. It’s true that the game developers produced a box set of each of them, and they continue doing it, but have you seen that PC game play has fallen off a cliff in past couple of years? If you to take a trip to your Best Buy you’ll likely see that the PC game play section is becoming extremelymighty small. In a good deal of store it’s reduced to a sad half display.
PC gaming likely can’t be saved thanks to the level of stealing that is taking place, but what about our favorite titles? Who would like to keep the tradition of attacking the 3 forms of Sephiroth with Knights of the Round? What about fighting off waves of the undead with a camera angle that we can really understand? The quickest way to bring it back to its roots and hold our older titles on the reatiler shelves is to let developers realize that’s what we crave.
The smartest action you can do is cease purchasing titles only because they’re a follow up to some video game you used to play all of the time. Do you understand the history of the developer? If it’s a developer that has butchered a bunch of titles in a row, ultimately ending your beloved franchise, then it’s probably a smart decision to keep yourslef from it. Purchasing the video game only encourages them to produce more that are similar. Is that what you truly crave?
If you would like to buy old titles you can attempt making a purchase on the web. You’ll discover plenty of options for purchasing old titles such as eBay, Amazon and other huge marketplaces. If you want to buy from one of these marketplaces however, ensure that you buy from a honest source. Also, be sure that the video game is in the status that you are going after. Keep in mind that these are old titles and there’s a likelihood that they will not be available with a manual or box. If you’re okay with this, then great, if not, attempt to come upon one that’s a bit more intact.
The times where we could scamper into blue rooms with a boxy shooter are certainly long done, but we can experience them and keep in mind where gaming came from.
