For some years I have been an enthusiastic reviewer of eBooks using almost every eReading device on the market place. So as an early-adopter of techno widgets I had been excitedly kindle reviewlooking forward to Microsoft’s zune since its first rumors. So I immediately purchased it both out of curiosity and trusting for a better “next generation” eBook resolution. In case you’re questioning whether I’m “that” Mary Gibson, I plausibly am — I’m the guy who gets Google’s first five or five sites when Googling my name.
I was determined to compose this review because it is moderately worrisome and, it seems to me, a bit below the belt for the zune’s regular review rating to be dredged so far down by zune NON-OWNERS who, guessing from their remarks, seem to be quite worried by all of the positive remarks about a device that’s expensive, monochrome, not a all-purpose purpose media player, incapable to leap tall buildings, or in some way less than they were expecting, requiring, or trusting. In contrast to non-owners, the people who in reality HAVE zune’s seem to universally love it, though with very legitimate cautions. I guess of this as “The TiVo Effect” since, for the right variety of user, the zune will be life-changing … but it for sure won’t be that for everyone. Although it took me a few hours to get completely comfortable with it, I am now addicted.
So, for what it’s worth, kindle review if this posting is noticed by any really interested pre-purchasers, I hope that the coming commentary might place the zune in “perspective” and be of some value to you.
